One thing that makes SL unpleasant is the small-minded smugy and petty little burghers (like Desmond) that you find there -- and worse, the small-minded wannabee burghers.
While we might find ourselves in the unpleasant situation of agreeing with Proks opinion of Desmond only because of his role in banning Woodbury University members from his sims and trying to get Carl Metropolitan to ban them from NCI (an attempt that failed), he has in the past seemed to be a decent if stiff gent. We were truly shocked he would take such initiative against Woodbury when we've had nothing to do with his sims in any way. Perhaps the NCI teachers who teach at Oxbridge who happen to be WU members got under his skin for some reason, failing to hew to his ideas of proper victorian RP language. We don't know, but hope we could talk with him about it at some point.
What we do find amusing though is that Desmond has been one of the few people who hasn't yet declared Prokofy *batshit insane*, and has even stood up for her anti-WU jihad attitudes and propensity for guilt by association and spouting about 'leninist conspiracies'.
He certainly doesn't deserve Prok slamming him like that. Then again, in her mind, he FAILED at getting WU banned from NCI, or getting Carl to do so, so in her Dr. No-like mental machinations, he evidently doesn't serve her any further use and must be punished with public verbal thrashings to get him to perform properly.
"Toss him into the tank of angry sea bass!" she says in mad and diabolical over-arched tones.
Desmond, mate, if ye read this, be it known we feel for ye.
It is becoming clear that Prok is picking off her hench-men one by one. Carl failed and worse yet, publicly apologized to his victims for failing, so she spanks him down. Now shes spanking Desmond for failing to properly motivate Carl. Who shall be next? Bladiblu? Coco? We look forward to the next shoe falling in gleeful anticipation. Who will fail Prok next?
I think the thing about Desmond which stands out about him is that there is a willingness to suspend his disbelief when it comes to Prok, considering I posted something to XSL's forum in "drama queen" style assuming that it didn't matter because Prok could not respond, or so I thought, obviously the ban was only via the JIRA, and I will always remember what Desmond said in confrontation to me concerning Prok, "it wasn't fair of me to post what I did as if it was true that Prok was banned, then Prok wouldn't be able to defend himself (herself) (whateverself)"
ReplyDeleteWhenever I have written anything concerning Prok after the instances even if ever so slightly critical, or not, the post would be immediately taken down.
Although I haven't recieved any repremands for my actions, it is clear that Prok lives with a teflon coating, and some people actually forgive and forget, where as Prok does not, Prok holds grudges, and Prok makes a mountain out of a molehill, as they say.
Its not just Desmond, who seems to be otherwise a fine buisness example within SL, its other people who would be suportive of Prok, such as Dale Innis and some of Prok's other friends who are smart enough to leave and get away from commenting or be slighted by a large amount of verbal abuse.
I'm not a "sanitize" the language person, but there is a point where you know there is something wrong with the brain when all one does is curse word up a page and call themselves "intellectual".
When every other post Prok posts has to even bother to answer so called accustations from this site.. If you were just basic griefers, why bother, or yeah, just that... obviously, its getting to Prok.
Prok gives allot of time to this, perhaps too much time.. perhaps someone protests far too much.
We can clearly see one sad result to this story, chips on the shoulder are too easy for us to see. Perhaps not kicking someone who is down, but not giving them a chance to manipulate is a better route, after all, I worry about who exactly Prok is, and why Prok is acting in the way she/he does.
There is something fishy. I'm neutral but I like the fact you are pointing out many a think I myself have noticed. Please do continue, I like reading the answers that Prok posts, as if it were to say, Prok must validate..I find that dead interesting.
Thanks Astro, we do aim to please. Despite her dedication to so-called democratic principles, she probably deletes more comments from her blog that aren't spam than any other blog we've ever read. She clearly has internalized the commissar.
ReplyDeleteI think although Mr. Shang and Mr(s). Neva are not associates, they actually working off each others dramatics. Desmond gets more promotion for his cause (raising awareness of his rentals), Prok gets some drama to draw eyes to her blog. Desmond comes off looking professional and gentlemanly, Prok gets some drama to draw eyes to her blog.

Prok will only suffer, if everyone stops giving her the oxygen of drama's. Suffocation would be slow, but painful..I mean if everyone moved over to something other than drama fuel, Prok would have to blog about shoes or something.
